Sewanee moves up to fifth in the latest USTFCCCA South/Southeast Regional poll

After its best finish at a conference championship meet in over 20 seasons, the Sewanee men’s cross country team moved up to fifth place in the latest U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) South/Southeast Regional poll.

The Tigers are ranked fifth just behind SAA winner Rhodes. Emory leads the region while Christopher Newport, Washington & Lee, close out the top-three. Lynchburg, Trinity (Texas), Mary Washington, and Bridgewater are the teams behind Sewanee.

This fall, Sewanee won the Berry Invitational, finished as the top NCAA Division III team at the UAH Invitational, second at the NCAA Division I APSU Invitational, seventh at the UTC PowerAde Invitational, and won the Sewanee Mountaintop Invitational.

At last Saturday’s SAA Championship meet, Sewanee had six All-SAA runners in Jackson Goodwin, Logan Stockton, Owen Legrone, Chris Hornsby, Mark McAlister, and Ash Midyett.
