Letter from the Editor

Dear readers,

Well, it’s closing time yet again. Final stress is ramping up, the campus grows greener by the minute, and I feel down for packing up my dorm and letting Sewanee go for the summer. But, also, if I look at one more assignment, I will explode. Maybe this is for the best, huh?

I’ve learned a lot during my first semester as Editor-in-Chief. My time management, people skills and confidence all grew, and it’s due to my staff that I owe the success of this semester’s issues. The newspaper is a team sport, and I am proud of how far we’ve come in these four months.

On a bittersweet note, our Layout Editor Virginia Hobby (C ‘28) is going abroad next semester and, therefore, will be taking a break from the newspaper. We thank her for her hard work, spunky personality and astute editing prowess.

For our last issue of the semester, I would like to highlight Sorority Council President Mary Courtney Finn (C ‘26), who wrote a heartfelt reflection on Greek Life. Her thoughts are insightful to read, especially for anyone involved in Greek communities here.

Also, Sports Editor Irene Boehm (C ‘28) highlights the record-breaking successes of our men’s lacrosse team in her article. If you want a light, fun read, check out Features Editor Israa Zayed’s (C ‘27) piece on an often overlooked and stereotyped community: the furry fandom.

YSR & EQB,

Chloe Wright

Editor-in-Chief
