Letter from the Editor

Dear readers,

At last, Spring Break is soon upon us. Or, as some call it, “Spreak.” I’ve noticed that Sewanee likes to abbreviate a lot. For example, I hear sparty and darty pretty often. But you will catch me saying “farty” over my dead body. I will be saying “fall party” like the grown adult I am.

Issue 3 is our largest of the semester this far. We have an extensive breakdown of a luxury senior living center that alumni hope to have built on campus. Also, our features column is stacked with articles covering everything from the increase of individuals seeking food assistance, to the Sewanee yearbook’s return and to our unique Bonner/Canale program.

Since we did not have a print edition for Issue 2, we included several articles from it here. I suggest Opinions Editor Harper Rzepczynski’s well-researched call for action against ICE and contributing writer Melody Norman’s opinion piece on the role of generative AI at Sewanee.

Stay safe, call your Mom and treat yourself.

YSR & EQB,

Chloe Wright (C ‘27)
