Second semester has barely begun, and the administration is already planning for the next academic year. The planning involves many conversations and decisions – one of the most difficult is that of selecting the new Head Proctors. The Head Proctors not only assist in running the residential life program, but also provide a valuable connection between the students and the faculty. On January 22, the four new Head Proctors received letters through the SPO, notifying them of their success. The new Head Proctors are as follows: Head Proctor for First Year Programs – Ally Hollis (C’16), Head Proctor for Proctors – Rachel Head (C’16), Head Proctor for Assistant Proctors – Garrett Heatherly (C’16), and Head Proctor for Programming and Community Engagement – Elise Anderson (C’16). All four were thrilled about their selection. The interview process was lengthy and challenging, designed to ensure the best possible Head Proctors. “Everyone was so amazing,” said Hollis, shortly after she received her letter. “That’s why we were all so nervous, because we knew everyone who applied was so qualified.” The Head Proctors will be starting their duties almost immediately in the coming weeks. As applications for Proctors and Assistant Proctors roll in, the Head Proctors will be responsible for helping with the interview process. Later this year, they will begin working in earnest as they prep for the entrance of the class of 2019.
