Defense leads Hendrix to win over Sewanee

On October 24, Southern Athletic Association (SAA) Regular Season Champion Hendrix earned a 3-0 win over the Sewanee volleyball team, Saturday, inside Juhan Gymnasium.

The Tigers fall to 10-13 overall and 3-10 in SAA play. The league-leading Warriors are now 19-7 overall and 12-1 in SAA action.

Hendrix earned the victory with set wins at 25-9, 25-21, and 25-15.The Warriors played well on defense. Hendrix limited Sewanee to a .067 attack percentage and finished with six blocks and a match-high 56 digs.

Individually, Lauren Petrisin (C’16) led all players with 11 kills. Holyn Duyck (C’16) added 11 assists while Allison Gaia (C’16) finished with 17.Caroline Montgomery (C’16) led Sewanee with a team-high eight kills. Walker Buxton (C’17) pitched in 21 assists while Sara Jayne Sutton (C’16) added 13 digs. Additionally, Caroline Owens (C’16) and Buxton added double-digit digs with 11 and 10, respectively.
