Abby Young (C’ 22), a forward on the Sewanee Women’s Basketball team, out of Maryville, TN, is the athlete of the week after having consecutively tremendous performances. The games were part of a road trip weekend in Memphis, TN at Rhodes on Friday and in Conway, Arkansas at Hendrix on Sunday. A few possessions later, after Sewanee and Hendrix traded baskets to keep the game up for grabs, with Sewanee leading by one point, Young splashed a monumental three, pushing the lead to four with approximately a minute remaining.
Sewanee went on to win it’s first SAA conference game this season against Hendrix, with a score of 76-73 behind Young’s career-high 9 rebounds, 17 points, and 3 steals with 3 assists.
