A body was found the morning of October 8 at Mi Casa restaurant in Monteagle. Police Chief Raline confirmed that it was not a student of the University. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation told The Sewanee Purple:
“At the request of 12th Judicial District Attorney General Courtney Lynch, TBI special agents are working alongside the Marion County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the circumstances leading to the death of a female whose body was found in the parking lot of a restaurant in the 1200 block of West Main Street in Monteagle on Sunday morning. Her body has been sent for an autopsy.
At this time, the investigation remains active and ongoing.”
Both the Monteagle and Sewanee police departments were present at the scene, which appeared on the last day of Sewanee Parents’ Weekend.
This is an ongoing story.
