Dear readers,
Since this is my last issue as editor-in-chief, I want to thank you for your continued support throughout my tenure. I am grateful for all that The Purple has taught me and will miss this amazing job that allows me to connect with the campus community. After working for this paper the past three years, it has been a part of my Sewanee career that will be difficult to let go.
However, I am very excited to pass the torch to Camille Pfister (C ‘25). She is incredibly capable and I know she will do an amazing job as editor-in-chief. I encouraged Camille to join the paper her freshman year, and ever since she has been nothing but dedicated, thoughtful, and hard-working. I would also like to thank Lizzy Donker (C ‘26), our soon-to-be executive editor, who is always up for a challenge, and Lee Hancock (C ‘81), our faculty advisor, for her advice and mentorship. Caroline Winslow (C ‘25) has been a wonderful layout editor and I don’t know what I would have done without her.
To my fellow senior staff, thank you so much for your hard-work and I will miss having an excuse to hang out with you all once a week!
I hope you enjoy this last issue and have a very restful Thanksgiving. With only a short time left in the semester, I wish all students the best on their finals.
Thank you again for this incredible opportunity.
YSR and EQB,
Rebecca Cole (C ‘24)
Editor-in-Chief
