This past Saturday, November 2, the ladies of GTU brought a unique tasty treat to Sewanee’s campus to benefit “the children.” The food was delicious vegetarian and chicken curries, diligently and lovingly cooked for upwards of six hours in the kitchen of the Women’s Center.
Packaged in adorable little boxes and served with sweet tea, the GTU women put so much work into this fun event.
“We love our curry recipe!” said Megan Beverly (C’15). Hosted in the Mary Sue Cushman room, the fundraiser benefitted Basic Needs, an organization based in Bangladesh that serves children through clothing, feeding, and educating them. GTU is proud to announce that they raised over $300 this year. With plans to make Curry for Kids an annual event, they look forward to growing it and further helping the children.
Curry for Kids had been done in the past, and previous generations of GTU ladies have passed down a secret curry recipe. If you missed it this year, definitely look forward to more delicious curry next Fall!
