On November 18, the Wick Auxiliary Board hosted its third, and final, Aux Talk of the semester. Students gathered with blankets and pillows in the Social Lodge on the corner of Georgia and Missouri Ave. on this chilly evening to discuss peace, rest, and spirituality. The event was led by Aux Board members Ansley McDurmon (C’16) and Jemi Senoga (C’16), who focused on how to find inner peace in a hectic world. During the event, students acknowledged and discussed what brings them stress while also finding ways to combat it. In a guided meditation led by McDurmon and Senoga, the group made candles and participated in an hour of self-reflection; many students in attendance commented that they felt tangibly more relaxed after the talk. All in all, the event was a resounding success. The Aux Board will continue to explore the theme of peace, rest, and spirituality next semester with more guided meditation and kinesthetic activities such as bread making. The group has many exciting activities and Aux Talks planned for the upcoming semester, which you can keep up with by liking their Facebook page.
