The Friends of the Library and duPont Library co-sponsor an award each year (since 2009) to recognize outstanding work study students in duPont Library. The Jessie Ball duPont Library was opened in April of 1965. To celebrate the 50th anniversary of this date, the Library is throwing a birthday party for Jessie Ball duPont! Beginning Sunday, April 26 we invite students to take part in a Library Scavenger Hunt #jessieballis50yall.You can pick up the rules and clues at the Circulation Desk beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday and start the adventure. All entries must be returned by Tuesday, April 28 at noon. The prize for the winner is exclusive use of the Group Study Room in the Fooshee Area on the main floor for the week of exams PLUS daily snacks and homemade goods provided by Library Staff. The winner will be announced at Jessie’s Birthday Party on Wednesday, April 29. You do not have to be present to win.

On Wednesday, April 29 we are throwing a 50th Birthday Party for Jessie Ball duPont. We will have cake and ice cream, a photo booth, board games, and TigerSearch freebies from the Sewanee Tiger Mascot. The event will run from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. in the Main Lobby of the Library.The other exam week event is a schedule of visits from local therapy dogs during Exam week.These dogs will be in the main lobby area ready to be petted and loved as students relieve stress from exam preparation.
