Ashley Pickett, who works at The Globe, is a proud mother of a 10-month old daughter, and a Winchester native, currently living in Cowan. She started working at Sewanee after graduating high school and has been working here for about seven months. If you ever see Ashley at the Globe making a burrito, make sure to say hello as she is very friendly!

Q. Do you know how to cook?

A. Yes, I like to cook country home cooking which I learned from my grandmother. My favorite dish of hers was Homemade Chicken Pot Pie. It is so good because everything is homemade.

Q. What is your favorite food at the Globe?

A. I like to eat the quesadillas even though they take a while to make.

Q. Do you have a favorite book?

A. I like to read to my daughter. Currently, her favorite book is a collection of The Berenstain Bears because she likes to look at the colorful pictures.

Q. What is your favorite movie?

A. I really like the movie Avatar because it is a different world from the one I live in. I like to watch the different reality presented in the movie. I also like the colors because it makes the movie look majestic.

Q. If you could have a superpower, what would you have?

A. I want the power to make people have kindness. Although many people are kind, there are some people whom I want to give some kindness to.

Q. What kind of music do you listen to?

A. I listen to rap, R&B, and country. I just don’t like listening to music where I cannot understand the lyrics. I like to know what I’m listening to. Currently I really enjoy listening to Miley Cyrus’s Adore You.

Q. What do you do on weekends?

A. If it is pretty outside, I take my daughter outside. My life revolves around her.

Q. What do you plan to do over Spring Break?

A. Just spend time with my family.

Q. What is your favorite thing about working here?

A. Definitely the students here on the campus because they are very sweet and friendly. I also love the fact that I get to meet people from diverse places.
